Heal-in speeds for the greens will be determined by how many PR-1 proteins are in its supply as well as the amount of specific phytohormone ratios with nutrients, which the plant must have to trigger lateral growth.
The traditional practice of flooding the system with excessive nitrogen can be slower due to low Spring temperatures that do not support the swift conversion of nitrogen to ammonium and nitrate forms in soil. And when the flush of nitrogen is released, the plant must pull from its root reserves and jeopardize stored carbs, amino acids and proteins to push topical growth.
